I come to you as a member of the BOS Food Committee, 2nd VP of Lake Co Farm Bureau, Board Member of Lake Co Chapter of Women for Ag, a livestock producer, and real estate broker. Reintrduction and expansion of the Williamson Act could be a very positive way to encourage and sustain the future agriculture in Lake County. The Williamson Act has a along history of successfully preserving valuable ag land through out Califiornia. I realize the cost to the county is a reduction in property tax revenue. However, this has the potential to generate jobs, help make Lake County more food independent, and improve the quaility of life here. I look forward to hearing the response of the Ag Committee and a positive outcome in the future regading the expansation of the Williamson Act.
