6a 26-06169:05 AM - Consideration of proposed Major Use Permit and Mitigated Negative Declaration (PL-25-394, for UP 24-16) US-CA-7286, North Lakeport, Applicant: Assurance Development, T-Mobile, to construct a 150' tall monopine cell tower with a 10' tall lightning rod and ancillary structures, located at 5017 Terrace Avenue, Lakeport (APN 029-031-18).
I own property and live just a couple blocks away from this proposed grow. I am very opposed to it. It encroaches on my peace and quiet and to that of my neighbors and the meditation Sanctuary nearby. It threatens the water situation, and the traffic alone with be a disturbance on a regular basis. Please direct these potential growers to find another place that is not so situation as to threaten those who have been living already in this area for many years. I have been here since the 1970s and the serenity of the area is on of the main reasons that I am here. These growers are not even locals who are wanting to grow on their own property, but are those coming into this area for commercial benefit alone. Please re-direct them to another area, such as a winery that is going to be discontinued or an area away from where people have been quietly living for decades.
I live on Loch Lomond Road, where it meets Seigler Canyon Road, I have several concerns. I am also a member of Adidam, and our Retreat Centre will be directly affected (negatively) by this grow. The grow's water usage on Seigler Canyon Creek, will be detrimental, as it runs through Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary. Plus the increased traffic will negatively effect the peaceful serenity of our Centre which supports peace on earth, and goowill to all. As a group, we believe there has been inadequate review of environmental impacts, under CEQA. There has also been a failure to address fire prevention and suppression. We fully oppose this the MUP, and do not support it.
I am writing on behalf of The Mountain of Attention Sanctuary and our neighbors on North Seigler Springs Road.
While there are several reasons why we oppose this approval (such as increased traffic, etc.) we are primarily concerned about the local water table since our wells are nearby the proposed properties. During the recent drought we were required to lower our pump and limit draw. We believe that the significant water consumption by the existing "grows" exacerbated these drought conditions. Thus, we fear that an increase in "grow" water draws will likely negatively impact our wells.
Consequently, we oppose approval of new and expanded agricultural permits. At the very least we feel that certified testing to determine if proposed wells draw from the same aquifer as our wells.
