South County has been woefully underserved in regards to Sherrif Deputy patrols. There must be no more excuses and rather a plan to adequately fund, recruit, and retain additional Deputies. I have been told deputies are focused on the Hwy 20 corridor and I ask why CHP isn't covering that area? Hidden Valley Lake contributes significantly to the coffers, yet we have 1 hour plus response times and almost no active law enforcement. Please coordinate with state partners to ensure our existing resources are re-focused into our communities. Maybe with this additional support in corrections, our deputies will actually have the capacity to arrest people.
