    Lake County Planning Commissioners,

The project appears to be a positive addition. The Staff Report describes part of the project as “an underfloor chef’s kitchen in undeveloped area of home, a proposed dining area, and a reconstructed patio. Improvements include outfitting the chef’s kitchen, plating room, indoor dining area . . .”

A few questions come to mind:
    1. What is an underfloor chef’s kitchen?
    2. Since the underfloor chef’s kitchen will be in an underdeveloped area of the home, does this mean that the footprint of the home will increase?
2.1. If yes, by how many square feet?
2.2. If the footprint of the house is supposed to increase, will it remove land from potential agricultural production?
2.2.1. If yes, is the removal permanent?
2.2.2. If yes, is the removal temporary? How so?
    3. Do other parts of the project (other than the underfloor chef’s kitchen) increase the footprint of the home?
3.1. If yes, by how many square feet?
3.2. If the footprint of the house is supposed to increase, will it remove land from potential agricultural production?
3.2.1. If yes, is the removal permanent?
3.2.2. If yes, is the removal temporary? How so?

From the site plan posted on the county website, it is not clear whether the project’s footprint increases. Increasing magnification of the site plan renders the lettering on the plan fuzzy.

    Thank you for your consideration.
