Once again Thomas Jordan provided erroneous information to the Commission. The mobile kilns that have been used for over 10-years in Colorado have undergone extensive testing during that time. The data from those reports show the mobile kilns do not emit pollutants or particulates into the air, like Thomas Jordan incorrectly stated in the meeting. They are a safe alternative for producing biochar and cleaning up the wooded areas and don't require the biomass to be moved from the original location. Placer County is partnering with BioChar Now out of Loveland, CO to install mobile kilns in the forests surrounding Lake Tahoe. The kilns can be moved to a new location when one site has been cleared and the focus is on a new area.
