Good morning! I apologize for missing public comment. As a County of Lake employee, I really appreciate the board's approval of both the Class and Comp study and the subsequent raises to make us competitive with the surrounding counties. It has been life changing for us. I recently learned just how little the Board of Supervisors make. I am a supervisor at Social Services. I'm not a manager or a deputy, I am a supervisor and I make more than the member of the board that I spoke with. Additionally, that member spends 20-25% of their salary on insurance for their family. That was so surprising to me. It is my understanding that the wage is so low for two reasons: 1. The BOS job started out as a part time job and 2. The board did not get raises when the rest of us did. It seems to me, now is the time to rectify this inequity WITHOUT vilifying the board and saying that they are padding their own pockets. This is a full time job and it deserves a full time salary. Thank you!
