Supervisor's Scott's resignation has been announced for July 31st. There will not be a vacancy until August 1st There is nothing that allows the Board of Supervisors to discuss filling this position until a vacancy occurs. If there is new information to considered that allows a change, that information should have been included in the agenda package to allow those with an interest to provide arguments against it. If a discussion takes place, Supervisor Scott, as an elected official in good standing must be allowed to participate and represent her constituents' voices. I hope that no one will ask Supervisor Scott to change her resignation date to allow time for a November election. The law is clear - the Governor will appoint some to fill the remaining portion of the term. That appointment will come after there is a vacancy. Let's give Supervisor the respect she deserves for her hard work during her time on the Board.
