If this is your logic, then the non-native board members ought to recuse themselves from deliberating non-native matters! The county should pay for whatever needs to be done to protect the land behind the gate in question from pillaging, dumping and potential arsonists. The county ought to pay for any special costs because it guards a county road/egress.
