7.2 21-974 Consideration of New Resolution Urging the California Citizens Redistricting Commission to Rejoin All of Lake County With Neighboring Contiguous Counties of Napa and Sonoma Within the Same United States Congressional District
I’m against this redistricting with Napa and Sonoma. I believe it’s not in Lake Counties best interest and we should consider other counties of similar interests and needs, like Colusa, Glenn, Modoc ect. more rural!
As a constituent of this county I oppose districting with napa and sonoma county. Our county is not anywhere near similar to those counties in regards to the way our county is structured. I recommend districting with colusa counties.
Lake County does not align with Sonoma and Napa counties and the Board should be seeking to have the entire county moved to District 3. Geographically and financially, Lake County is more in line with Yolo, Colusa and other counties to the North. As one of the poorest counties in the California, how can we say that we are better suited with Sonoma and Napa counties? At a minimum, leave the current districting alone and let Northshore remain in District 3.
