It is long overdue that the county take action on the proliferation of water hauling that is happening all over the county as a result of illegal cannabis grows. On our remote, rural Ranch alone, there are over 17 illegal grows and water haulers are devastating our roads. I've witnessed water being taken out of local aquifers off of Highway 20 in a year when the North Fork of Cache Creek has never been lower. One of the main considerations when permitting a legal grow is the availability of water and its source. I believe this proposal helps address a very serious problem we are currently experiencing in many locations around the county. We can't allow depletion of water sources for illegal operations nor devastation to private roads that people need access to for safety during fire seasons.
