This project is on the east side of Hwy 53 which is sparsely developed. The prevailing winds should direct any odors away from neighbors. The corridor along Hwy 53 is an important fire break, and permitting an agricultural use will be a very effective reduction in fuel hazard. The property has excellent water and access, and the applicant demonstrated that they can operate in a professional manner under Early Activation last season. This seems like an ideal location for a cannabis project since the alternative uses such as vineyards or residential development would create problematic impacts including but not limited to fire hazards and increased groundwater demands.
