Lake County cannot operate effectively without addressing high staff turnover and chronic vacancies affecting multiple departments, including the Sheriff's Office, Health Services and Community Development. The classification and compensation study was comprehensive in its scope, and it is important to give practical effect to its findings. I strongly support this action as being both timely and necessary, not just for county workers but for anyone who relies on essential county services.
